A Mastermind group offers a combination of masterminding, peer brainstorming, education, accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills. A mastermind group helps you and your mastermind group members achieve success.
Napoleon Hill wrote about the mastermind group principle as:"The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony."

Why is TOWNSVILLE BUSINESSWOMEN'S NETWORK introducing these groups?

  • Over the past two years many of our members/past members have taken part in Feedback surveys and indicated they would like opportunities to brainstorm and spend quality time with other business/career women who are experiencing the same success/ challenges on a day to day, to assist and be assisted in finding the right solution for challenges.
  • Penelope-Ann Sullivan Enterprises in association with TBWN has facilitated Mastermind Groups introduction for TBWN Members.

What a Mastermind Group is NOT

  • A mastermind group is not a training class. While groups can vote to bring in guest speakers occasionally to teach on a specific topic, the main focus of a mastermind group is sharing among the group members.
  • A mastermind group is not group coaching. Mastermind groups are about the MEMBERS sharing with each other, not about the facilitator leading or coaching individuals in a group setting. You get everyone's feedback, advice and support.
  • A mastermind group is not a networking and referral group. While you may share leads and resources with each other, the main focus of a mastermind group is brainstorming and support to create success.

a. Open to all TBWN members who are Business Owners with more than 1 staff member who wish to advance their business skills and expertise.

2. Career Inner Circle

a. Open to all TBWN members who are employees of either a Corporate or Private Enterprise Business and wishes to advance their Career , their skills and expertise

3. Executive Inner Circle

a. Open to all TBWN members who hold Managers, Senior Supervisory, Executive role with a Corporate/Government organisation with more than 2 direct reports, who wish to hone their skills and expertise

4. Entrepreneurs Inner Circle

a. Open to all TBWN members who are Sole Business Operators (Owner Operator)and do not have any staff members, who are seeking to mastermind with other solo operators to enhance their business skills and expertise

5. Winners Inner Circle

a. Open to all TBWN members who are the recipient of a TBWN Businesswoman Award, Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards, other National/State or Industry Award who wish to mastermind with other high achievers and find way to Leverage their achievements for further advancement

How do I register my Interest in joining one of the Inner Circles

1. Contact Liz Gallagher at the TBWN office and complete the Application & Non Disclosure form
2. Complete and Return both forms

How much will it cost?

  • Membership to the Mastermind Groups is FREE to all TBWN Members.
  • There will be a nominal charge for each meeting to cover Catering [If required]and Administration only, this fee will be advertised in advance of each event

What will be expected of me if I join a mastermind group?

  1. Harmony and respect are the keywords to any successful mastermind group.
  2. Adherence to the Written Group Guidelines.
  3. Attendance and commitment to the group and yourself
  4. Active participation in discussions-whether asking questions, highlighting your own experiences, or recommended reading or business services
  5. Be willing to listen to feedback
  6. Know ahead of time what you need to ask for help with
  7. Give feedback only when relevant to your experience or knowledge
  8. Be mindful of the time and do not go over your allotted portion
  9. Confidentiality is a must! Do not discuss what goes on outside the meeting. Complete and sign a Non-Disclosure Document
  10. Cultural and other barriers may exist.
  11. Agree before group starts to respect the other's work by not using or copying their ideas without permission
  12. If you commit and then drop out this could tarnish your reputation
  13. Be on Time and ready to participate - Turn off your mobile phone and "be there"!
