The Townsville Business Women's Network (TBWN) was formed in February 1990, thanks to the vision & passion of Mrs Alison Wenck and the shared vision and drive of Mrs Hillary Hahn and Mrs Christine Soltero, three very talented Townsville businesswomen.

A Cocktail Party was held with the intention of defining the needs of the businesswomen in Townsville, attended by approximately 40 prominent Townsville business women [many who remain members to this day] with Special Guest Margret Gill the founder & President of the Cairns Business Woman's Club as the Key Note Speaker It brought the realisation that opportunities were being missed due to the lack of networking and sharing of information between the businesswomen of Townsville within a formalised structure.
